I Saw a Cross In the Sky – True Successful Living

True Successful Living began for me in 1976 on a Sunday afternoon about 4pm with a clear blue sky; as I looked up through the moon roof of my Lincoln I saw a Cross/Crucifix in the sky!

It was formed by what seemed two beams of radiant light!! I could hardly believe my eyes! I didn’t know why but I started to sob like a baby from the depths of my being.

My 4 years old son was asleep; we were on our way back home from the awards presentation made to my monthly divisional winners. I took my son so that I could spend some time with him and have the excuse to leave early.

Al Jr. did not want to leave because he was having so much fun in the swimming pool and eating all the delicious food. The presentations were made at the home of the top distributor who was entertaining his organization at a barbecue, poolside trying project true successful living financially.

Was This True Successful Living?

I was there at this distributor’s home due to business protocol. We did not like each other. We were both competitive and suffered with unloving spirits, which I did not know then even existed.

At the time I needed the money to support my wife and 1 ½ children (Anthony was still in the oven). We had the best of everything in material success.

I drove a luxury car, my wife had state of the art sports car, and we lived in a new custom designed condo over looking a lake; yet I was so unhappy. Why? Was this true successful living?

I had recently come back from Las Vegas with my tail dragging between my legs after living there for 6 months and losing approximately $200,000 (in 1975 that was a lot of money). I wish I could say that it was all lost gambling at the tables but it wasn’t that simple.

Believe it or not, I went to Vegas to become a star so that I could tell people the keys to True Successful Living. I had been traveling the country and speaking on “the Little Engine that Could,” a book introduced to me By Captain Kangaroo on TV as a child.

I was somewhat of a legend in my own mind. The traps of financial success and recognition had gone to my head and now I was trapped by the need to maintain the high cost of living we had become accustomed to.

The fear of losing everything that I had worked so hard for was overwhelming! (Maybe you can relate?) Is that True Successful Living?

What had happened? At one time I loved what I did but now I could only look at the failure and the debts I had to overcome from the Las Vegas venture. I could do it; I knew how to get back everything financially but I did not want to; I wanted to go back to Las Vegas and finish my goal.

Had I Not been teaching others to set a goal, develop a plan, and work at it? What happened to The Secrets to true Successful Living?

Back to the Cross/Crucifix! The Beginning of True Successful Living

It wasn’t until today 35+ years later as I write this embarrassing message that God revealed to me why I saw that Cross/Crucifix! I asked! (Matthew 7:7-8)  I had asked God if he was real to reveal Himself to me.

I was sure to ask Him to not zap me with any pain or electricity (I am not joking); the thoughts of what I had done in pursuit of true successful living over the last few years made me think if there was a God I could be in real trouble.

I was in so much pain through stress (fear) and despair I would try anything to get this heaviness off me. I now wanted to know what true successful living was about.

Why would He give me a sign like this? Would the Creator of the Universe communicate with me that way? Who was I to receive such an unmistakable sign? It changed my life forever!!

It was not all smooth sailing after that but I had received an answer about true successful living; it was undeniable! It was the Cross/Crucifix! Not only did God show me He was real but that it was though the Cross/Crucifix that I would find all my answers!

Are You Looking for a Sign or Answer Which Could Lead you to True Successful Living?

Maybe you’re looking for answers right now; answers to questions that seem impossible to answer. I have learned after 35 + years that the same answer is at the Cross/ Crucifix.

It is what God did for all mankind. I also learned that He will answer anyone who asks! In addition He will reveal to us what true successful living real is; including not only the spiritual but physical, mental, financial, relational etc.

I have so much more to tell you such as; when I went to Las Vegas and harassed Sammy Davis Jr. and then Frank Sinatra, and when I invested in a movie and hired people to teach me the ropes. Boy did they teach me!!! I had no rope left when I came back.

When I came back from Vegas I was a mess! The first month I could not get out of bed, I was so depressed. That is not true successful living!

In My next post I will be sharing how I now hear from God after 35 years. The other day He called me dude and said I could call Him that too! Is that blasphemes, irreverent, or ok?

I asked God to reveal himself to me and He did! God does not play favorites!  What He does for one person He will do for others; that means you too! You can do the same thing; ask and He will reveal Himself to you.

It might not be through a Cross/Crucifix in the sky but He will reveal Himself if you really want to know the truth about a successful life. Ask Him! I dare you!
